The ideal candidate has at least three years of dozer experience for fine grading, with GPS machine control preferred. This role requires operating various dozers, reading plans, and coordinating with earthmoving crews to meet exact elevations and tolerances.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating dozers for fine grading in heavy civil construction.
• Experience in site grading, mass excavation, mainline pipe installation, or processed water projects preferred.
• Ability to perform fine grading with or without GPS-assisted machine control.
• Strong knowledge of soil conditions, compaction techniques, and grading tolerances.
• Physically able to work in demanding conditions; valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate dozers (e.g., Cat D5–D8) for fine grading, slope work, backfill and surface finishing per specs.
• Contribute to mass excavation, mainline pipe installation, and processed water projects.
• Use GPS machine control when available or manual grading to required tolerances.
• Read and interpret plans, grade stakes, and laser levels to achieve precise elevations.
• Coordinate with supervisors, pipe crews, and earthmoving teams for efficient site prep.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues; perform routine maintenance.
• Follow safety policies and OSHA regulations for grading and excavation work.
