Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a Bulldozer Operator to support road and site prep projects in Texas. The role requires GPS experience to push material efficiently, finish slopes, and stay busy on job sites.

You will operate tractors with concave blades, connect and maintain attachments, and follow safety procedures while meeting project specifications. High school diploma or GED and apprenticeship certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Fastens attachments to tractor with clevis or wedge-pin hitches.
• Connects hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage, or power takeoff shaft to tractor to provide power to raise, lower, or tilt attachment.
• Moves levers to control tool bars, carriers, and disks.
• Moves levers and depresses pedals to maneuver tractor and raise, lower, and tilt attachment to clear right-of-way.
• Feels lever and listens for stalling action of engine to estimate depth of cut.
• Drives bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade.

General Summary

GPS experience able to push material efficiently, able to finish slopes and stay busy. Operates tractor equipped with concave blade attached across front to gouge out, level, and distribute earth and to push trees and rocks from land preparatory to constructing roads and buildings. This job participates in on-the-job training.

• May grease, oil, and repair tractor.
