Job summary

Garner is seeking an experienced Performing Arts Manager to lead GPAC operations in the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department. The role oversees programming, events, community partnerships, and staff, with evening and weekend hours aligned to venue schedules.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, arts management experience, and business acumen. A degree in arts or recreation administration plus supervisory experience is required, with CPR/first aid or equivalent, and NC driving

Qualifications

  • Associate degree and at least 5 years of recreational/cultural facility management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • CPR and first aid certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license.
  • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends for events.
  • CPRP or CVP designation is highly desirable.
  • Master's degree in Arts Management or related field desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide staff in delivery of arts and cultural programs.
  • Manage GPAC programming, events, and venue rentals.
  • Administer and monitor operating budget; pursue grants and opportunities.
  • Participate in planning and evaluation per PRCR plans and CAPRA accreditation.
  • Maintain community relations and outreach for partnerships.
