Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Governmental Entity Liability Associate in Costa Mesa. This role offers remote work flexibility, allowing for a portion of the workweek to be conducted remotely. The position involves working with a specialized team representing public entities in various cases, including dangerous condition claims and law enforcement officer liability matters.

Duties

• Manage discovery, including propounding and responding to discovery, drafting and arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions.
• Provide timely and accurate reporting to clients, ensuring compliance with case management requirements.
• Evaluate, analyze, assess, and execute litigation strategies.
• Proactively manage communications with clients throughout litigation.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
• Active membership in the California State Bar and in good standing.
• Prior law enforcement and/or military experience is a plus.
• Criminal defense experience is welcomed.
• Exceptional communication and advocacy skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to manage and meet deadlines.
