Job summary

340B Health is seeking a Government Relations Coordinator to support the GR team in shaping strategies and tactics for Capitol Hill, the administration, and the 340B provider community. The role collaborates with member hospitals to engage in advocacy and advance 340B policy goals.

The coordinator will assist with lobbying events, meetings, content updates, and written materials, while maintaining calendars and databases, and supporting newsletters and webinars.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Grassroots in executing two lobby day events per year for member hospitals, including logistics, materials, recruitment, and post-event analysis.
  • Maintain GR team calendars and coordinate meeting invitations.
  • Arrange and support meetings and calls with members, outside consultants, and other stakeholders, managing scheduling logistics and agendas.
  • Assist Director of Grassroots in communicating the impact of 340B to policymakers and hospitals.
  • Monitor and inform staff of Capitol Hill activity, including legislation and hearings affecting 340B.
  • Assist in administering the Champions Recognition Program.
  • Update content and maintain the association’s Federal Advocacy Toolkit web content.
  • Support GR projects including newsletters, webinars, and action alerts.
  • Maintain the government relations database.
  • Attend and assist with bi-annual conferences.
  • Develop and edit government relations materials such as talking points, policy summaries, and presentations.

Job description

340B Health has an immediate opening for a Government Relations Coordinator at our thriving national nonprofit health care trade association. As a member of the Government Relations team, you will support efforts to shape the strategies and tactics to effectively represent the organization on Capitol Hill, with the administration, and throughout the 340B provider community. The GR Coordinator will play an integral role in our government relations activities and collaborate with 340B Health member hospitals to engage in advocacy.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Grassroots in executing two lobby day events per year for member hospitals. This will include event logistics, program and materials preparation, participant recruitment, and post-event analysis and follow-up
  • Maintain GR team calendars and coordinate meeting invitations
  • Arrange and support meetings and calls with members, outside consultants, and other stakeholders, managing all scheduling logistics and agendas
  • Assist Director of Grassroots in working with member hospitals to develop and share with policymakers the impact 340B has on their hospitals and patients
  • Monitor and inform staff via our government relations platform of 340B activity on Capitol Hill including legislation, hearings, and other congressional activity impacting the 340B program
  • Assist the Director of Grassroots in administering the Champions Recognition Program
  • With Director of Government Relations, update content and maintain association’s Federal Advocacy Toolkit web content
  • Support and contribute to Government Relations projects including newsletters, webinars, and action alerts
  • Maintain the government relations database
  • Attend and assist with bi-annual conferences
  • Assist with developing and editing government relations’ written material, such as talking points, policy summaries, power point presentations for lobby days, and government relations webinars
Education And Experience
  • Professional experience in legislative setting or in government relations is a plus

Other Pertinent Information
  • Staff are currently required to work in the office a minimum of 3 days per week, Monday – Wednesday, and other days as needed, and must live in MD, DC, or VA. No exceptions.
  • Overnight and out-of-state travel required, including to twice-yearly conferences
  • May occasionally be required to lift and carry light materials, up to twenty-five pounds

Annual salary range is $56,000-$75,000 based on experience.
