Job summary

BerryDunn is seeking a Consulting Intern for the Local Government Practice in Portland, ME. The role focuses on government procurement and contracting analysis, supporting RFPs, templates, and project coordination across municipal client engagements.

You will learn software system planning, engage in documentation, and assist with status reporting while working closely with a manager in the Local Government Practice Group. The internship runs Summer 2027.

Qualifications

• Current student or recent graduate in Political Science, Business Administration, Public Policy, or related field.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent writing and communication abilities.
• Relevant government procurement experience is a plus.
• Willingness and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of the general consulting process in local government.
• Assist in performing consulting engagements of all sizes.
• Assist with project management tasks including tracking, reporting, and QA of deliverables.
• Prepare solicitation documents (RFPs, scoring tools, templates).
• Follow diagnostic, data collection, fact-finding, and data analysis practices.
• Keep supervisors informed on project status.
• Provide ad hoc assessments and briefings to clients.
• Participate in staff meetings and training as a team member.
