Develop military aftermarket sales for client Aerospace Controls, covering foreign military opportunities, U.S. government distribution, repair/overhaul and OEM customers. This is an opportunity-development and account-ownership role, not primarily order entry. Some commercial accounts may support cross-training.
Manage defense distributor relationships, forecasts and issue resolution. Establish relationships with foreign-military channels and pursue both inbound and outbound opportunities. Coordinate pricing and negotiations with the pricing team. Build a business case for pursuing new opportunities and coordinate engineering, operations and other functions through capture. Track actions and influence internal stakeholders to complete their responsibilities. Support budgeting and navigate delivery constraints and material obsolescence. Identify competitor-replacement opportunities with channel partners, including the military opportunities described as SAR during intake.
Five or more years in aerospace/defense customer service or inside sales per posted requirements, with evidence of commercial ownership meeting the intake standard. Applied knowledge of government contractual requirements, approval processes and FAR/DFARS. Manufacturing-facility experience. Ability to negotiate, establish relationships, learn products quickly, manage priorities and coordinate cross-functional execution. U.S.-person eligibility as stated in the posting.
Probe practical Buy American Act understanding. Explore TINA exposure without treating lack of threshold-specific experience as automatic rejection: Arthur noted that some businesses never encounter those contract values. Do not screen solely on government-related keywords.
Government opportunity portals, Haystack and CAV reporting familiarity helpful. Internal ERP and pricing tool used; no specific CRM platform is a knockout requirement. General business-software proficiency supports the work. The transcript's isolated \"SAP\" wording is not evidence of an SAP software requirement.
Defense aftermarket experience; foreign military sales; distributor management; repair/overhaul exposure; government sourcing tools. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Broad responsibility in a smaller manufacturing business may be useful, based on the previous successful employee, but is not a mandatory company-size filter.
