Job summary

Canvas, Inc. at Arnold AFB, TN is seeking a Cost Estimator (PL) to develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE) and Basis of Estimate (BOE) for large DoD projects.

The role requires in-depth analysis of the PWS/SOW, building a comprehensive Work Breakdown Structure, and ensuring billable components are fully traceable to cost and narratives. The ideal candidate will research labor, ODCs, materials, and equipment, document rationale, and use Excel to organize BOE data.

Qualifications

• Ability to develop accurate cost estimates for large complex projects.
• Knowledge of government procurement processes.
• Strong project and financial management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Create Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE) and Basis of Estimate (BOE).
• Research sources of supplies/services for Purchasing.
• Document rationale for BOE elements traceable to cost and technical narratives.
• Use Excel to document BOE rationale and justifications.
• Assist in proposal preparation and reporting as required.
• Interface with operations to define requirements/specifications for equipment/services.
• Prepare RFIs and coordinate responses back to potential suppliers.
• Participate in pre-proposal source selection processes, including scoring criteria.
• Travel up to 5-10% may be required.
