Job summary

GP Strategies Government Solutions is seeking an experienced Government Contract Accountant to support the financial management and reporting for a large federal contract in Anniston, Alabama. The role focuses on contract accounting, budgeting, and compliance with FAR/CAS and federal regulations.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in accounting and at least five years of government contracting experience, with expertise in cost analysis, labor, and indirect rates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of government contracting accounting experience.
• Experience supporting the financial administration of federal government contracts.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and cost analysis.
• Experience with project accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
• CPA, CMA, or other relevant accounting certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting and financial analysis activities in support of government contract operations.
• Monitor contract expenditures, budgets, and financial performance to ensure alignment with program objectives.
• Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with budget development, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Review and analyze labor, indirect rates, project costs, and other financial data.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations, contract requirements, company policies, and accounting standards.
• Assist with audits, financial reviews, and contract compliance activities.
