Job summary

Coakley & Williams Construction, LLC in Bethesda, MD seeks an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site operations for Government and Public sector projects across the MD/DC/VA region.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and daily project execution, partnering with the Project Manager to meet contract requirements and stay on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience managing construction projects valued at more than $20 million.
• OSHA 30-hour certification, First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Procore, bluebeam, Primavera scheduling, and BIM.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, and related documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily on-site construction operations from mobilization through project closeout.
• Enforce company safety policies and applicable local, state, and federal safety requirements.
• Coordinate subcontractors, field personnel, material deliveries, inspections, equipment, and site logistics.
• Partner with the Project Manager to establish project goals, staffing plans, and execution strategies.
• Develop, review, and maintain project schedules in coordination with the project scheduler and team.
• Monitor short-term schedules, manpower, materials, and subcontractor performance to maintain progress.
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and other documents for constructability.
• Develop understanding of subcontractor scopes of work and prevent gaps and change orders.
• Confirm subcontractors are working from current drawings and specs.
• Implement and maintain the quality control program.
• Lead preconstruction and preparatory meetings before major phases.
• Coordinate permits, inspections, commissioning, punch lists, and closeout.
• Maintain accurate as-built documents throughout the project.
• Manage general conditions and field labor costs.
• Communicate with owners, architects, engineers, and team members.
• Mentor and develop project team members.
• Use construction technology and PM software to complete responsibilities.
