About the Government & Public Sector Group (GPS)

GPS is one of the largest attest practice groups at Cherry Bekaert. We seek a highly motivated Government Audit Partner to help us expand our government audit services. This role offers potential leadership opportunities within the practice.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team providing audit and consulting services to governmental entities, including local governments, public authorities, transportation agencies, school districts, and state and local agencies.
• Managing clients with revenues from $2 million to $9 billion.
• Delivering exceptional client service and collaborating with other service lines and industry partners to promote practice growth and development.

Work Location & Travel

Options include onsite/hybrid from any of our office locations or remote work within the US. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Master’s preferred.
• CPA certification and active license.
• At least 10 years of experience in a large public accounting firm.
• Experience with local government entities is required; experience with airport authorities or enterprise funds is a plus.
• Involvement with GFOA, GASB, ASBO, ICMA, or AGA is desirable.
• Strong client service, business development, leadership, and staff development skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
