Job summary

Kearney & Company is seeking an Audit Associate to join our team in Alexandria, VA. The incumbent will perform procedures such as document gathering, data analysis, and assisting with preparation of deliverables under supervision.

Responsibilities include fieldwork, data gathering, and drafting project deliverables, with emphasis on Federal Government accounting and management responsibilities. Good communication and self-motivation are essential for success.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).
• CPA highly desirable (preferred)
• 150 credit hours that are required to be CPA eligible (preferred)
• Some accounting and/or auditing experience (preferred)
• Experience working with Federal and/or DoW clients (preferred)
• Awareness and knowledge of Federal Government’s financial and management responsibilities (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate professionalism and competence in the client’s environment.

• Execute the day-to-day accounting and audit activities of the engagement and conduct fieldwork daily.
• Gather audit related data.
• Demonstrate awareness and knowledge of Federal Government’s financial and management responsibilities.
• Assist in drafting and preparing project deliverables.
• Utilize technology to share knowledge with team members, develop skills, and continually learn.
• Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
