A space tech company is modernising satellite operations to enable reliable, autonomous missions across commercial and government programs.

They are now hiring a Government Affairs Specialist to lead policy engagement, regulatory strategy, and government relationships, working closely with senior leadership, legal, and technical teams to support continued growth in regulated and government-adjacent environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead government affairs strategy in support of space operations, software delivery, and regulated programs
• Develop short- and long-term legislative and policy engagement plans aligned to operational needs
• Serve as the primary external point of contact with relevant federal and state agencies
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, policymakers, and regulatory decision-makers
• Monitor and influence policy and regulatory developments impacting space, satellite operations, and communications
• Draft policy positions, legislative language, briefings, and supporting materials as needed
• Prepare executive-level updates and presentations for internal leadership
• Coordinate with external consultants, industry groups, and third-party partners where required
• Support licensing, approvals, and compliance efforts across government-facing programs

Key Requirements

• Significant experience working in government affairs, public policy, or legislative roles
• Direct experience engaging with government agencies or legislative bodies
• Background in space, satellite communications, telecoms, aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated sector
• Experience influencing or achieving legislative or regulatory outcomes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including policy writing and executive briefings
• Ability to navigate complex, technical subject matter and translate it into policy impact
• Comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced, scaling environment
