Job summary

Harford County Government is seeking an Accountant II to perform basic accounting functions, analyze financial information, and prepare financial reports. The role may supervise accounting staff and ensures compliance with GAAP and regulations.

The position is based in Bel Air, MD with a salary range of $70,000 to $72,000. Minimum 3 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and government accounting standards.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and data management.
• Ability to prepare and review financial statements and audits.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review documents for property transfers.
• Prepare budget documents and revenue/expenditure projections.
• Manage financial administration for funds and prepare financial statements.
• Maintain work papers and input data into accounting systems.
• Process data entry of transactions, payments, and bills.
• Review accounts for billing accuracy.
• Prepare reports, invoices, and cash receipts.
