Job summary

Job description

The Governance and Compliance Advisor supports Arizona's workforce system by providing compliance leadership and technical assistance to the state's 12 Local Workforce Development Boards. The role ensures adherence to WIOA and federal/state requirements through relationship management, regulatory oversight, policy development, and monitoring of board governance practices. The position reports to the Office of Economic Opportunity and may offer remote work options within Arizona.

Key qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of related experience in program or project management requiring stakeholder interaction
• Demonstrated expertise in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and federal workforce policy
• Strong understanding of public sector regulatory compliance and the Arizona Public Meeting Law
• Experience in governance, compliance, and workforce development preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to analyze complex regulations and provide policy guidance
• Ability to manage multiple projects, build stakeholder relationships, and deliver technical assistance and training
