Job Summary
The Data Governance Analyst supports agency-wide data governance by putting IDOH policies and SOPs into practice. The role maintains metadata and Dataset Reference Sheets, governs critical data elements, writes data quality rules, and coordinates centralized data sharing and access governance. The analyst also serves as a resource on policy interpretation, training, and stewardship best practices.
Roles and Responsibilities
Centralized Data Sharing & Access Governance
- Intake, triage, and route internal and external data requests
- Maintain audit trails and enforce director accountability and delegation
- Coordinate with Legal (OLA) on Data Sharing Agreements, retention, and destruction obligations
- Track request timelines and SLA adherence, and **escalate overdue items**
Experience
- Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (or similar): 2 years
- Relationship management across divisions: 2 years
- Personal and professional integrity, strong work ethic: 2 years
- Project oversight and aligning priorities with strategic initiatives: 3 years
- Decision-making and root-cause problem solving: 3 years
- Taking critical feedback and adjusting approaches: 3 years

Eligibility & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information management, public health, data science, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience, in line with the highest skill requirement
- Familiarity with data sharing agreements, data classification, and handling of sensitive data
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
