Job summary

Edgesource Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in Alexandria, VA. The role focuses on full-cycle accounting within a government contracting environment and requires hands-on experience with Unanet and GAAP compliance.

The position offers a hybrid work model (3 days onsite), competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401k, education support, and healthcare coverage.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in accounting or related field.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience in full accounting cycle.
• Up-to-date knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience in government contracting industry.
• Experience with UNANET or similar accounting system.
• Willingness to commute 3 days/week to Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly close activities including posting general ledger entries, reconciliations, journal entries, and management reporting.
• Handle federal contract invoicing, cost accounting and reconciliation.
• Oversee full-cycle project management for customer invoicing in Unanet; track funding/modifications and billable costs.
• Set up and manage projects (LCATs) and assign resources; track ODCs and hours.
• Conduct variance analysis and prepare P&L reports for management and project managers.
• Ensure GAAP, FAR and contract policies compliance for domestic and international entities; support audits (DCAA, GSA, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on revenue recognition and contract revenue/COGS.
