Job summary

Velo3D, Inc. is seeking a Sales Director to lead defense and government sector sales for metal 3D printing. You will build and manage a pipeline of government contracts and engage a limited set of prime contractors to meet bookings goals and drive revenue.

The role requires a proven hunter with 10+ years selling capital equipment, strong government market insight, and track record of 15–20M annual sales. US citizenship preferred for security clearances. Competitive base salary plus benefits.

Qualifications

• 10+ years selling capital equipment and complex systems.
• US citizenship required for government contracts.
• Proven ability to hit 15–20M annual sales targets.
• Experience with startup environments and leading sales campaigns.
• Strong references in defense space.
• Security clearance preferred but not required.
• BS in engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sell into government entities and defense primes.
• Develop and manage sales pipeline for government contracts.
• Engage target industries such as aerospace and energy OEMs.
• Translate technical value into business outcomes for customers.
• Lead cross-functional teams to close, retain, and upsell.
• Build relationships with government and CMs.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to drive engagement.
• Maintain strong customer communications and discovery.
• Identify key decision makers and drive alignment.
• Act as team player and strategic thinker.
