Job summary

The City of Conroe is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the Accounting division under the direction of the Assistant Finance Director. The role oversees financial activities including payroll and accounts payable, and ensures accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities include coordinating the annual external audit and preparing the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). A strong background in GAAP, budgeting, and government accounting is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and five years of accounting experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Five years of experience with finance, accounting and/or financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead City's Accounting division and manage financial activities.
• Coordinate annual external financial audit and ACFR preparation.
• Supervise accounting staff to ensure compliance with City policies and regulations.
