Job summary

City of Portland is seeking an Accounting Supervisor in the Accounting Division of the Office of the CFO to lead the Financial Reporting section and oversee the annual ACFR and city-wide external audits.

You will guide a staff of 5 accountants, provide direction on accounting practices and internal controls, and collaborate with city bureaus and the SAP team to meet critical deadlines and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Experience applying governmental accounting and financial reporting principles, including GAAP, GASB, and FASB.
• Experience preparing clear financial statements and communicating with varied audiences.
• Ability to analyze complex financial operations and improve automated systems.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate work across teams.
• Ability to build effective working relationships.
