Job summary

Uncle Gs Management Corp. is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to lead our busy kitchen team and ensure high-quality, timely meals.

This hands‑on role supervises staff, manages inventory, and maintains kitchen standards with a strong focus on Italian cuisine. You will work closely with the Kitchen Manager on hiring, training, scheduling, and administrative duties, while ordering materials and optimizing menus for events and daily service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a restaurant or back-of-house environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, storage, handling, and preparation standards.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, and training kitchen staff.
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen staff and oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring recipes, portion sizes, and preparation standards are consistently followed.
• Prepare gourmet dishes from scratch, particularly focusing on Italian cuisine, in collaboration with the kitchen team.
• Assist the Kitchen Manager with hiring, training, scheduling, and other administrative duties.
• Order kitchen materials and ingredients based on store menu needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment while ensuring compliance with all food safety policies.
• Monitor inventory levels and conduct daily and weekly inventories.
• Collaborate with department managers to develop menu items, pricing, and portion sizes for meals, events, and catering orders.
• Train employees on the safe operation of kitchen equipment, proper handling of ingredients, and adherence to safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the kitchen and store operations.
