Job summary

FreshDirect is seeking a Ground Operations Associate for its Ambient department in the New York area. You will handle receiving, storage, inventory and replenishment while following GMPs. There is potential to support picking, packing and loading trucks as needed.

Successful completion of FreshDirect’s internal PITO training and a practical exam for powered industrial trucks is required. You may train others and work across different warehouse areas as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must complete FreshDirect’s internal PITO training program.
• Pass FreshDirect’s internal PITO practical exam for 1+ powered industrial trucks.
• Ability to work in multiple areas within the department and train others.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, inventory, and replenish products following GMPs.
• Process goods deliveries quickly using the warehouse management system and RF guns.
• Train and assist others in processes; move products between reserves and pick bins.

Ground Operations Ambient Associate

Fresh Direct is currently seeking a Ground Operations Associate for our Ambient department in the New York area. The Ground Ops Associate is responsible for receiving, storage, inventory, and replenishment of products while ensuring our good manufacturing practices are being followed. Other responsibilities may include flexibility to work in other departments picking and packing and/or loading trucks.

Fresh Direct is currently seeking a Ground Operations Associate for our Ambient department in the New York area. The Ground Ops Associate is responsible for receiving, storage, inventory, and replenishment of products while ensuring our good manufacturing practices are being followed. Other responsibilities may include flexibility to work in other departments picking and packing and/or loading trucks.

Responsibilities and Working Conditions

• Successful completion and passing of FreshDirect’s internal PITO in class training program.


• Successful completion and passing of FreshDirect’s internal PITO practical examination for 1 or more powered industrial trucks.


• Ability to work in multiple areas within assigned department and ability to train other employees on processes.


• Processing?all goods deliveries quickly and accurately, using our warehouse management system via RF Guns and computers to complete all required transactions.


• Manually moving products between reserves locations and pick bins.


• Stocking pick bins and reserves with product based off work assignments via our warehouse management system.


• Working to or exceeding standard rates for activities set forth by management team.


• Ability to use manual pallet jacks, u boats, dollies, and other manual material handling equipment.


• Organizing and rotating products based on FIFO while keeping work areas cleaned and organized.


• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.


• In a workday: standing/walking 6-10 hours or more


• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling


• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching


• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals, loud noises, flashing lights


• Constant exposure to temperatures: <-10 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators)


• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment


• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed


• Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery


• Ability to work in other areas of the business as needed

Education and Qualifications

Note: The hourly range for this role is from $16.50 to $16.50 . Specific compensation for the role may vary based on many factors including but not limited to candidate experience, and skills.
