Job summary

66degrees seeks a Data Architect to guide customers on Google Cloud migrations, translating business needs into scalable, cost-effective database solutions and a practical Spanner migration strategy. You will design architecture on Google Cloud, manage migration of database objects, data, and users, and collaborate with client teams to deliver robust, high-performance cloud data platforms.

This contract role requires 5+ years of database experience and 2+ years in Google Cloud, with a focus on

Qualifications

5 years of overall database management and IT experience.
2+ years of Google Cloud experience.
Proven experience migrating and/or implementing cloud-native databases like Spanner.
Proven experience in migrating databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) to Cloud SQL.
Advanced SQL skills; ability to write, tune, and interpret SQL queries.

Responsibilities

Guide client and delivery teams toward an effective architectural pattern on Google Cloud.
Design solution architecture on Google Cloud for migration to Spanner and related components.
Translate business and technical requirements into scalable database solutions.
Perform migration activities including DDL translation, data transfers, and security setup.
Engage with customer teams to provide education, architectural recommendations, and technology reviews.
