Job summary

Charlotte Country Club in Charlotte, NC offers an Agronomy Internship providing hands-on experience in golf course management, including mowing, greens moisture management, irrigation, and capital projects.

Interns work 45–55 hours weekly, mid-May to early August, with potential continued employment based on needs and performance. Students gain practical exposure to equipment, data collection, and turf care in a premier club setting.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, or Turfgrass Management.
• Detail-oriented, accountable, organized and passionate team player that strives to better themselves each day.
• Devoted to a career in the golf course industry with the goal of becoming a Golf Course Superintendent.
• A minimum of 1 year’s experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Walk mowing greens
• Rolling greens
• Hand watering greens, tees, fairways and bunker faces
• Assist and/or apply greens treatments with spray equipment
• Use of GPS sprayers for boom spraying applications
• Hand raking bunkers
• Daily data collection using GS3, TDR250 and Spiio sensors
• Groups handling and laying new sod
• Maintain and repair Sub Air, Hydronics and Rain Bird irrigation systems
• Fly mowing, push mowing and string trimming of miscellaneous areas
• Aerification and topdressing of greens, tees, fairways and approaches
• Performs other duties as assigned
