Job summary

New Berlin Hills Golf Course, part of Troon, seeks a part-time Player Assistant for a seasonal role lasting up to 6 months. The position pays $10.00 per hour and involves starting players, managing pace of play, and assisting on course maintenance and guest service.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license, with 1–3 months of related experience. Ability to work in diverse weather is required; benefits include healthcare and a 401(k) with employer match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, with 1–3 months of related experience or training.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work in a wide range of weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Starts players on the first tee, explaining the rules of play for the day.
• Maintains an accurate starting sheet so the whereabouts of players are known.
• Cues groups to move to the first tee and ensures no more than one group is on the tee at one time.
• Tours the golf course, assisting players to maintain pace of play.
• Checks restrooms and water stations regularly.
• Maintains proper spacing on the course to avoid delays.
• Completes the golfer tracking report daily.
• Reminds players of cart rules and safety guidelines.
• Repairs ball marks and collects litter; replaces hazard stakes or signage.
• Communicates with the Golf Shop and Starter regularly.
• Monitors course and assists golfers; reports issues to Head Pro.
• Maintains safe work practices and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.
