Job summary

Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana, seeks a Golf Shop Merchandiser to drive merchandising, purchasing, and product presentation for the Golf Shop. You will balance guest service with sales goals, manage inventory, and coordinate displays and vendor relations.

The role requires a strong background in retail merchandising, budget management, and supplier negotiation within a golf context. It offers full-time, year-round employment with a vibrant private club atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing or related degree.
• 5+ years’ experience in retailing including buying, display/merchandising, receiving, pricing, returns, inventory control preferably in the field of golf.
• Ability to analyze technical data in suppliers’ proposal; strong negotiation and mathematical skills; knowledge of supply-chain management; and the ability to perform financial analyses.

Responsibilities

• Meet financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions to ensure meeting goals and objectives.
• Responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing, including establishing preferred vendors, selecting and purchasing quantities of goods and merchandise, development of private label product, pricing of merchandise, and negotiation contracts with vendors.
• Merchandise must be neat, clean and presented to the Club’s standards.
• Formulate pricing policies to ensure all Club products are priced correctly.
• Prepare attractive and creative in-store displays and visual merchandising.
• Attend trade shows to identify new products and services, source new vendors, and stay current on trends.
• Prepare Open-to-Buy plan annually to Director of Golf Operations.
