Job summary

Thompson Golf Management seeks a dedicated Golf Shop Attendant to support the Head Golf Professional in daily operations at our Texas courses. You will assist with tee sheets, merchandise, guest services, and event coordination while promoting the game and delivering hospitality-focused service to members and guests.

Ideal candidates are comfortable working outdoors, standing most of the day, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of golf.
• Ability to multitask and provide hospitality-focused service.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Golf Professional in managing day-to-day golf operations.
• Promote the game of golf and hospitality to members and guests.
• Organize and promote club tournaments and events; supervise shop staff and operations.
• Oversee POS revisions for green fee and merchandise sales; coordinate with Accounting on policies.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked shop; assist with merchandising and sales.

Reports to: Head Golf Professional

The Golf Shop Attendant will assist the Head Golf Professional in managing the day-to-day golf operations and is responsible for promoting the game of golf and the club while providing hospitality focused service to our members and guests. They help organize and promote all Club Tournaments and other special events/functions at the Club. The Golf Shop Attendant oversees all aspects of golf operations and staff to assure proper performance.

• Administers all points of sales application revisions and needs as it applies to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member/guest billing. Coordinates with the Accounting Department on all policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementations.
• Reconciles daily tee sheets, performs check-ins, and receives payments from members and guests.
• Initiates and promotes all club golf activities.
• Maintains a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop. Assists retail buyers with procurement and merchandise and shop assistants with merchandising and sales.
• Supervises preparation for all golf outings, including scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets, and hole assignments.
• Assists in the management of department members that may include, but are not limited to: Starters, Player Assistants, and Guest Service Attendants.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Fills in with guest service shifts as needed.

Primary requirements:

• Standing or moving for 6 to 8 hours a day.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
• Able to multitask as needed.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Available to work days, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.

Preferred skills:

• Knowledge of golf or previous experience.
• Able to work in a quick-paced environment.
