Job summary

Worldwide Golf Shops in Rockville, MD is seeking a part-time Golf Sales Associate. You will help customers select equipment, demonstrate products, and provide data from the launch monitor and golf simulator to aid decisions.

We value golf knowledge, enjoy a flexible schedule, and offer base pay plus commission, employee discounts, and ongoing product training in a retail setting. Prior golf industry experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Golf knowledge/background is required.
• Experience in the golf industry is preferred, but not required.
• Working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheets, inventory, internet and order processing systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain golf product knowledge and promotions.
• Evaluate customer needs and recommend golf equipment.
• Educate customers on products and compare options.
• Operate launch monitor and golf simulator to provide data.
• Assist with floor moves, merchandising, and floor cleanliness.
• Research merchandise availability and manage stock levels.
• Suggest process improvements once trained.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Description:

• Maintain an awareness of all golf product knowledge, terminology, merchandise promotions, demo merchandise and sale advertisements.
• Evaluate customers’ needs, apply knowledge of golf equipment features and benefits, and make recommendations on the right golf equipment for the customer.
• Educate customers on our golf products and help them compare differences to make an educated decision.
• Operate launch monitor and golf simulator equipment to provide customer with valuable data during in-store experience
• Assist with floor moves, merchandising, and keeping the sales floor organized and clean to meet Worldwide Golf’s standards.
• Research merchandise availability via computer database; requisition merchandise from the stockroom and taking inventory of stock where needed.
• Once fully trained, recognize and suggest ways to improve processes.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Ability to spend work time standing or moving around the store. Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting (up to 15 pounds), carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis.
• Have a working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, inventory, internet and order processing systems.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

Golf Sales PT: The hourly rate for this position is $12.00 - $16.00 per hour plus a commission rate based on department and product. Individual starting rate within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
