Job summary

Worldwide Golf in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Part Time Golf Sales Associate to help customers select the right clubs and gear. You will learn product lines, demonstrate equipment, and provide excellent service on the sales floor.

This role emphasizes knowledge of golf products, a friendly attitude, and the ability to work varied hours. Training is provided, and commission is available on top of base pay.

Qualifications

• Golf knowledge/background is required.
• Experience working in the golf industry is preferred, but not required.

• Maintain awareness of golf product knowledge, terminology, promotions and demo merchandise.
• Evaluate customers’ needs and recommend appropriate golf equipment.
• Educate customers on products and compare differences to aid decisions.
• Operate launch monitor and golf simulator to provide data during in-store experience.
• Assist with floor moves, merchandising, and keep the sales floor clean and organized.
• Research merchandise availability via computer databases; requisition stock and take inventory as needed.
• Participate in process improvements after training.

Job Description

• Maintain an awareness of all golf product knowledge, terminology, merchandise promotions, demo merchandise and sale advertisements.
• Evaluate customers’ needs, apply knowledge of golf equipment features and benefits, and make recommendations on the right golf equipment for the customer.
• Educate customers on our golf products and help them compare differences to make an educated decision.
• Operate launch monitor and golf simulator equipment to provide customer with valuable data during in‑store experience.
• Assist with floor moves, merchandising, and keeping the sales floor organized and clean to meet Worldwide Golf’s standards.
• Research merchandise availability via computer database; requisition merchandise from the stockroom and taking inventory of stock where needed.
• Once fully trained, recognize and suggest ways to improve processes.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Ability to spend work time standing or moving around the store. Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting (up to 15 pounds), carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis.
• Have a working knowledge of word‑processing, spreadsheet, inventory, internet and order processing systems.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $12.00 - $16.00 per hour plus a commission rate between 1.75% and 6% based on department and product. Individual starting rate within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
