Job summary

Oakland County Parks is seeking a friendly Golf Course Pro Shop Worker for Lyon Oaks Golf Course in Wixom, MI. This part-time, up to 1,000 hours/year position involves checking in guests, scheduling tee times, processing purchases, and supporting shop operations.

You’ll help maintain a welcoming Pro Shop, assist with merchandise, cart rentals, and may support grill room or beverage cart service. 18+ required; paid $16.04/hr in a dynamic recreation environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old to work in the Grill Room and serve alcoholic beverages.
• Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.

Responsibilities

• Welcome golfers and provide friendly, helpful customer service in the Pro Shop
• Schedule tee times and process purchases, rentals, and other transactions using a point-of-sale system
• Assist with merchandise sales, inventory, golf cart rentals, and equipment
• Clean, stage, and organize golf carts for customer use
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Pro Shop
• Serve as a starter/ranger when assigned, helping manage the pace of play and promoting course rules and etiquette
• Assist golfers with questions or concerns while they’re on the course
• Depending on assignment, assist with food and beverage service in the grill room, concession area, or beverage cart*
• Answers public inquiries regarding other County parks
• Performs the duties of part-time seasonal employees in various classes when necessary
