Job summary

Big Cedar Lodge seeks friendly Golf Outside Service team members to ensure world-class guest experiences through hands-on service and hospitality. Responsibilities include bag drop, maintaining practice facilities, and staging/cleaning golf carts at the end of rounds.

You will greet guests, anticipate needs, and work with the team to ensure smooth operations in all weather conditions. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent; hospitality experience is helpful.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of golf operations and experience in hospitality preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

Members of the Golf Outside Service’s Team are responsible for assuring exceptional, world-class experiences through hands-on service and unreasonable hospitality. Golf Outside Services members are responsible for the bag drop, practice facilities, staging golf carts appropriately, and the cleaning and storage of golf carts each evening.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Provide exceptional service in the following positions: Bag Drop, Practice Facilities, and End of Round Experiences

  • Initiates contact with guests with a warm welcome and the willingness to assist the guest

  • Must be proactive in anticipating the guest’s needs

  • Must effectively communicate all pertinent information amongst his/her team members and supervisory staff regarding daily operations

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Always carries themselves in a friendly approachable manner

  • Ability to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments

  • Must be highly service focused with a desire to engage with guests

  • Demonstrated initiative – ability to think, work, and make decisions to solve guest concerns based on sound judgment

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected

  • Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards, attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness a must


EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS


  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Basic understanding of golf operations and experience in hospitality preferred


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY


  • Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time, work safely, communicate effectively, understand and carry out written and oral directions, and establish good working relationships with co-workers

  • Able to work in outside weather conditions

  • Lift, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, grasp and use arm-hand coordination on a consistent basis

  • Be able to work weekends and holidays, mornings and evenings as business demands.

  • Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

  • Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.).

  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

  • Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

  • Analytical/Critical Thinking - The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly walks, stand, and lifts up to 50 lbs.
Occasionally sits.
Seldom/Never does computer work.


INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT

Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by the supervisor. Limited opportunities exist for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
