Job summary

Watertown SD is seeking a Golf Operator to maintain the city golf course in optimal playing condition through mowing, raking, and operating equipment. Responsibilities include mowing greens, tees, fairways, rough, raking sand traps, and maintaining machinery.

The role requires the ability to work nights and weekends, communicate with supervisors, and handle landscaping tasks as needed. Minimum qualifications include a valid driver license and being at least 16 years old; previous golf operator

Responsibilities

• Mow greens, tees, fairways, and rough using various mowers.
• Rake sand traps and bunkers.
• Operate and maintain a variety of equipment, including mowers, tractors, and other tools.
• Plant, remove, and trim trees and shrubs.
• Water, aerate and apply fertilizers under supervision.
• Ensure equipment is used correctly and safely, report any issues.
• Communicate with supervisors and report any course issues or problems.
• Take orders and answer questions with clarity and understanding.
• Work with a variety of people in an efficient, calm and patient manner while in a fast-paced environment.
• Work nights and weekends and extended hours as needed.

A golf operator is responsible for maintaining the golf course in optimal playing condition through a variety of tasks, including mowing, raking, and operating equipment. They may also assist with landscaping, planting and general maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Mow greens, tees, fairways, and rough using various mowers.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Driver License
• Must be a minimum of 16 years old or older

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous Golf Operator experience or equivalent
