Job summary

Golfzon Social Oak Brook, part of Troon, seeks a Golf Instructor to lead golf instruction and junior clinics at our Oak Brook facility. The role emphasizes teaching fundamentals, developing lesson plans, and coordinating clinics with the club and Troon leadership.

Help design marketing initiatives to drive revenue for golf instruction, oversee range operations, and mentor teaching staff throughout the season. PGA credentials are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• PGA credentials preferred but not required.
• Experience teaching golf and developing lesson plans.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Teaches fundamentals of the golf swing as directed by the Director of Instruction.
• Designs and implements marketing ideas to promote golf instruction and generate revenue.
• Oversees range set-up and equipment; maintains driving range, lesson tee, and storage.
• Promotes club golf activities including junior clinics.
• Educates and develops assistants; conducts monthly clinics and roundtables.
• Coordinates and teaches clinics and schedules with the Club and Troon.
• Maintains inventory of teaching aids and video equipment.
• Assists in creating lesson plans and hiring/training staff.
• Directs work performance, addresses issues, and enforces safety practices.

Pay:

Key Responsibilities

• Teaches the fundamentals of the golf swing as established by the Director of Instruction.
• Designs and implements marketing ideas to promote golf instruction and bring in additional revenues to the club.
• Oversees range set-up and equipment. Helps maintain general upkeep of the driving range, lesson tee, and storage shed.
• Promotes all club golf activities, including junior golf clinics.
• Instructs and assists in the development of qualified and certified assistants. Educates teaching staff throughout the golf season with monthly clinics and/or roundtable sessions.
• Coordinates and teaches clinics.
• Act as a liaison between Troon and the Club regarding golf school schedules, needs, and equipment.
• Maintains an up-to-date inventory of all teaching aids on property, including video equipment.
• Assists in the creation of lesson plans.
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
