Job summary

Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa on Alabama's Gulf Coast is seeking a Golf Greenskeeper to maintain premium course conditions. You will operate turf equipment across greens, fairways, and tees, and apply fertilizer and pest control to keep turf healthy.

You will also manage irrigation systems, assist with landscaping, and prepare greens and traps while observing safety guidelines to ensure a world-class guest experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in turf maintenance and course conditioning is preferred.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems, fertilization, pest control practices.
• Ability to operate greenskeeping equipment and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractors and mowers to maintain rough, fairways, greens, and tees.
• Apply lime, fertilizer, insecticide, and fungicide as prescribed.
• Set up hoses and sprinklers to ensure proper irrigation.
• Plant, trim, and spray trees and shrubs to maintain aesthetics.
• Prepare greens and traps through digging, raking, and grading.
• Use hand tools like weed eaters, edgers, and blowers to keep areas tidy.
• Follow safety regulations to maintain a secure work environment.

As a Golf Greenskeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the impeccable quality of these stunning courses, ensuring pristine playing conditions for our guests. This role involves using a variety of tools and equipment to cultivate and care for the grounds, enhancing the beauty and functionality of the golf courses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Turf Maintenance: Operate tractors and power mowers to till, cultivate, grade, and mow the rough, fairway, green, and tee areas to ensure perfect playing conditions.
• Fertilization and Pest Control: Apply prescribed amounts of lime, fertilizer, insecticide, and fungicide to ensure the health and vibrancy of the turf.
• Irrigation Management: Set up hoses and sprinkler systems at designated points across the course to maintain adequate irrigation.
• Landscaping: Plant, trim, and spray trees and shrubs to maintain the overall aesthetics of the course.
• Course Prep: Engage in tasks such as digging, raking, and grading to prepare new greens and maintain traps and roadbeds.
• Groundskeeping Equipment: Use hand equipment such as weed eaters, edgers, and blowers to maintain a clean and well-manicured course.
• Safety Adherence: Follow safety regulations and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and others.
