The Cleveland Metroparks–Seneca Golf Course is seeking a Golf Course Equipment Technician to maintain and repair course equipment and assist with grounds maintenance. The role covers a range of semi-skilled to skilled tasks, including irrigation, drainage, and turf practices, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, 2+ years of relevant experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with at least two years' experience maintaining and repairing golf course equipment or similar equipment.
• Familiar with small engine repair, hydraulic systems, and diesel engines.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Preferred experience with operation and maintenance of reel mowers.
• Preferred experience in welding and fabrication.
• Demonstrated leadership consistent with teamwork while recognizing everyone's contribution.
• Keeps current with new production methods, techniques, and materials by work assignments.
• Written and oral communication skills to communicate professionally and effectively.

Job Description

The Golf Course Equipment Technician maintains and repairs the golf course equipment located at Seneca Golf Course. This position also assists with the maintenance of course grounds when assigned.

Essential Functions:

• Operates, maintains, and repairs the following equipment: Green, tee, and fairway mowers, tank sprayers, greens roller, tractors, utility vehicles, spreaders, and other related turf equipment.
• Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the golf cart fleet.
• Performs semi-skilled work, and as capable and assigned, skilled work in golf grounds maintenance including; Cutting cups, raking bunkers, and mowing greens, tees, and fairways exercising a degree of independent judgement.
• Performs semi-skilled work, and as capable and assigned, skilled work in golf course irrigation, drainage, and turf maintenance practices.
• Demonstrates technical knowledge in preventative maintenance of equipment.
• Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding areas for oneself, co-workers, and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable, and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
• Informs supervisor of key issues promptly.
• Provides work direction, changes work assignments, and corrects work activity of other employees, as assigned.
• Performs related duties as apparent or assigned.

Requirements

• Must be familiar with small engine repair, hydraulic systems, and diesel engines.

• Preferred experience in welding and fabrication.
