St Johnsbury Country Club is a Willie & Mungo Parks/Geofrey Cornish design located in Saint Johnsbury, Vermont. The course is a Vermont must play and is known for the quality of its layout and conditioning. We are looking for a hardworking, self-motivated individual who wants to grow with us and takes pride in a job well done.
This position may be full time-12mth or full time -seasonal. Options to be discussed in greater detail if interested.

The superintendent will report directly to and work side by side with the Owner and/or General Manager in all areas of facility maintenance and goal setting.
The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the successful maintenance of golf course grounds including but not limited to: clubhouse grounds, parking lot, landscape areas, golf course, driving range, and maintenance building.
A minimum of 5 years' experience working as a first assistant or superintendent is required. Cool season bent grass greens management experience is a must. Ability to calibrate and apply pesticides and fertilizer applications when appropriate and supervise that application when relevant.
Our ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be organized and efficient. Must have a high attention to detail and solid communication and interpersonal skills.
Safely operate standard golf course maintenance equipment including but not limited to: all mowers, aeration, chain saw, tractors, backhoes, etc.
Run a professional and organized maintenance building, write schedules for staff, and assign daily work assignments.
The superintendent is responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory of chemicals and supplies including price quotes for seasonal applications to ensure that we are getting the chemicals that we need at the most competitive prices.
Make sure that operators are trained to operate equipment correctly and communicate effectively with operators and mechanic to ensure that problems with equipment are addressed in a prompt and efficient manner.
Manage Rainbird computerized irrigation system, modify or set programs, and manage pump house operations. Perform irrigation repairs when necessary.
When the golf course closes for the season (approximately Nov 10th), off-season responsibilities include golf course projects - weather permitting. This includes tree maintenance, plowing, maintaining and monitoring greens for ice buildup, possible sculpting of tee boxes or bunkers, etc. This position requires a superintendent who is capable of performing turf equipment maintenance as when outdoor projects are not feasible, we use that time to do yearly maintenance on all of our turf equipment to make sure that it is ready to go for the upcoming season. Having a superintendent who is equipment savvy helps to ensure the productivity of our mechanic and provide direction if needed.
