Job summary

Salisbury Country Club, a private 27-hole facility outside Richmond in Midlothian, VA, is seeking a Golf Course Superintendent to lead daily maintenance and drive exceptional course conditions and member satisfaction.

Reporting to the Director of Golf Courses and Grounds, you will manage staff, coordinate irrigation, budgeting, and work with equipment technicians to deliver top-tier playing conditions on all 27 holes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Turf Management, Agronomy, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent.
• Proven success managing cool- and warm-season turf in the transition zone.
• Current Pesticide Applicant's License (or the ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily golf course maintenance and operations across 27 holes and practice facilities.
• Plan and execute cultural practices, moisture management, pest control, and course conditioning.
• Manage and develop staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
• Assisting with irrigation operation, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Assisting in annual budgeting and capital project planning.
• Coordinate with other departments and serve as a professional representative of the grounds team.
• Communicate effectively with members and attend club and departmental meetings.
