Job summary

Invited Clubs' Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco, TX is seeking a Golf Course Superintendent to lead agronomic programs for an 18-hole operation, oversee maintenance staff, and partner with the Head Golf Professional to optimize rounds and member satisfaction.

The role requires a Turf Management degree, at least 3 years in course maintenance, budgeting experience, pesticide certification, a valid driver's license, and a commitment to safety, compliance, and cost control while delivering premier

Qualifications

  • An associates and/or bachelor’s degree in Turf Management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Golf Course Maintenance.
  • A minimum of 1 year of budgeting experience for golf/landscape.
  • At least 1 year of knowledge of equipment and resources for golf operations.
  • Current State Pesticide Applicators License or must complete within 90 days.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide agronomic oversight for healthy turf, trees, wetlands, and ornamentals.
  • Supervise chemical applications and maintain records per regulations.
  • Oversee safe operation and maintenance of equipment; plan budgets for replacements.
  • Maintain golf course to high standards following guidelines.
  • Control costs and adhere to the approved budget.
  • Coordinate with Head Golf Pro to optimize rounds around events.
  • Communicate with members to exceed expectations.
  • Train staff in OSHA and safety regulations; ensure a culture of compliance.
  • Lead meetings on operations, maintenance, safety, and environment.

Stonebriar Country Club is a private golf and lifestyle destination in Frisco, Texas, offering 36 holes across two distinguished courses shaped by Texas Golf Hall of Famer Joe Finger, Ken Dye, and Tom Fazio. Supported by a 3,000-square-foot fitness center, eight lighted tennis and pickleball courts, resort‑style pools, kids' programming, and multiple dining venues, the Club anchors a vibrant, family-focused community with year-round social events.

The Superintendent is responsible for supporting the Director Golf Course Maintenance with the 1st Assistant Superintendent with day-to-day operations. The responsibilities include developing and managing turf grass and plant material maintenance programs; overseeing property and asset management; managing personnel; handling budgeting, forecasting, and financial management; participating in member retention initiatives; scheduling and maintaining irrigation systems; applying pesticides and maintaining related records; and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements. The job’s oversight is limited to a single 18-hole operation.

Day-to-Day
  • Provide agronomic oversight to ensure the healthy growth of golf course grasses, trees, wetlands, and other plant materials.
  • Supervise chemical applications and record-keeping, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Oversee the safe operation, use, and maintenance of golf course mechanical equipment, planning and budgeting for additional or replacement equipment as needed.
  • Maintain the golf course to the highest standards, following company and industry guidelines.
  • Control expenses related to golf course operations and adhere to the budget.
  • Collaborate with the Head Golf Professional to optimize rounds of golf while scheduling maintenance practices around member plays and events.
  • Regularly communicate with members to ensure the club exceeds their expectations.
  • Ensure staff training in OSHA, club safety, and state and federal guidelines to maintain safe working conditions.
  • Provide ongoing technical, operational, and safety training for staff, fostering a culture of compliance and safety.
  • Lead and participate in meetings to discuss club operations, maintenance schedules, safety protocols, and environmental concerns
Required
About You
  • An associates and/or bachelor’s degree in Turf Management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Golf Course Maintenance.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in preparing and managing budgets for the golf course and landscape maintenance departments.
  • A minimum of 1 year of technical knowledge of all equipment, products, and resources related to golf course operations with the ability to implement these resources to meet or exceed company and club standards.
  • Current State Pesticide Applicators License or successfully completed within 90 days of employment.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of general business administration practices and golf course operations practices and procedures.
  • Direct supervisory experience preferred with proven ability to maintain confidentiality of Club, Company, and personnel information
