Job summary

Forsyth County's Park and Recreation Department seeks a Golf Technician I to support Tanglewood Golf Maintenance Staff across three courses. Duties include bunkers,raking, weed eating, and general landscaping, with progression to mowing tees, greens and roughs as experience grows.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, one year of grounds maintenance experience, and a valid driver’s license. Pesticide license must be obtained within one year of employment; training provided as

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Pesticide license must be obtained within one year of employment.
• Ability to operate reel-type mowers and other golf course equipment.

Responsibilities

• Irrigates turf and applies fertilizer.
• Sets up golf course for daily play.
• Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
• Operates chain saws, chippers, weed-eaters and other small equipment.
• Operates powered equipment to mow greens, tees, fairways and roughs.
• Installs drainage.
• Plants and cares for ornamentals and flowers.
• Performs general golf maintenance tasks as needed.
