Job summary

Forsyth County's Park and Recreation Department has an opening for Golf Technician I to support the Tanglewood Golf Maintenance Staff across three courses. Duties include bunker maintenance, weed eating, and landscaping; as experience grows, mowing tees, greens, and roughs; operating small equipment and tractors.

This entry-level role requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; pesticide licensing within one year is required. Work hours: Mon–Fri, with weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED and one year of grounds maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of standard golf course maintenance practices.
• Ability to operate and maintain golf equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Irrigates turf and applies fertilizer.
• Sets up golf course for daily play.
• Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
• Operates weed-eaters and small equipment.
• Operates mowers for greens, tees, fairways and roughs.
• Assists with drainage installation and landscape care.
• Performs general golf maintenance duties as needed.
