Job summary

Navy Region Southwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Maintenance Supervisor at Naval Base San Diego's CNRSW Golf Course Maintenance Division to oversee greenskeepers, irrigation techs, pest control operators and mechanics, ensuring safe, efficient daily operations.

You will supervise staff, plan and coordinate work, inspect course and equipment, manage inventories, and act as relief for the Golf Course Superintendent, while adhering to federal safety and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to supervise and direct work of other employees.
• Knowledge of golf course maintenance operations and equipment.
• Understanding of turf irrigation practices and systems.
• Knowledge of soils, fertilizers, irrigation, drainage, pests, diseases, weeds, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to apply pesticides and fertilizers per label.

Responsibilities

• Review and assign work, establish priorities with Superintendent.
• Ensure safety training and proper operation of equipment.
• Direct maintenance mechanics to repair machinery and equipment.
• Inspect golf courses daily and oversee cleanliness of facilities and grounds.
• Prepare purchase requests and manage inventories.
• Provide leadership and decision-making in the absence of the Superintendent.
