Job Summary
To provide general maintenance to golf course including daily routine jobs throughout summer and various fall/winter projects.
Season is normally from April through November.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
City employees shall conduct themselves in a professional manner and shall exhibit and extend such professional conduct appropriate for the circumstances to those with whom they come into contact both internally and externally during the performance of their duties. Examples of professional conduct include, but are not limited to; being communicative, informative, fair, honest and respectful.
Required (Essential) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Operates a variety of equipment used in routine maintenance, including power & hand tools, chainsaws, weed-eaters, push mower, green and tee mowers, and other related equipment. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Majority of work is performed primarily in an outdoor environment, where weather conditions can vary from extreme heat and cold, with high levels of dust, dirt, fumes, and noise. Physical activity includes prolonged standing, bending, stooping, lifting, walking and uses arms and hands frequently. Must have the ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 to 75 pounds and assist in lifting objects weighing in excess of 100 pounds. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience in lawn care maintenance and/or golf course maintenance beneficial.
