Job summary

City of Freeport Texas is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the golf course and surrounding landscape. You will operate tractors, mowers and related equipment and perform routine maintenance to keep greens, tees and fairways in good condition.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with a High School diploma or GED, valid Texas driver's license, and the ability to work 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. The role requires physical stamina and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older.
High School Diploma or GED preferred; some college preferred.
Must have a valid Texas driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Regular and timely attendance at work is required.
Operates mowers and string trimmers used in maintaining the grounds.
Set tee markers and cups on greens daily; maintain ball washers; replace tee, towels, and flags when needed and clean flowerbeds.
Maintain fuel and fluids in all equipment daily and report problems or failures to supervisor immediately.
Keep all equipment and tools clean.
Water and fertilize tees, greens, and fairways and landscape areas under supervision.
