Job summary

The Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department in the Navy Region Southwest is seeking an MWR Motor Vehicle Operator (Greenskeeper). This role maintains golf course grounds and turf to playing condition.

Responsibilities include caring for tees, fairways, greens, bunkers, and related facilities, supervising junior staff in mowing and watering, diagnosing lawn diseases, and performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal course quality.

Responsibilities

• General care and upkeep of golf tees, fairways, bunkers, hazards, putting greens, flags, sand traps, and other golf facilities.
• Oversees lower level employees in cutting and watering the course.
• Diagnoses lawn diseases and applies curative treatments.
• Rakes sand traps and replenishes sand as needed.
• Operates vehicles/tractors with attachments to till, cultivate, and grade new turf areas.
• Cuts turf on greens and tees with hand and power mowers.
• Irrigates turf by connecting hoses and sprinklers.
• Polices areas and disposes of trash and garbage.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
