Belfair, a Troon-managed private golf community near Bluffton, SC, seeks a full-time Mechanic/Turf Equipment Technician to maintain and repair the golf course equipment fleet. The role supports the Agronomy Team and championship conditions through preventative maintenance and timely repairs.

Qualifications

• Interest in mechanics, equipment maintenance, or working with engines.
• Previous experience with automotive, diesel, lawn equipment, farm equipment, or small engines is a plus, but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools or a desire to learn.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain golf course maintenance equipment and small engines.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance: oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and inspections.
• Set up, adjust, and maintain mowing equipment for high-quality playing conditions.
• Assist in assembling new equipment and preparing it for use on the golf course.
• Learn to troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and mechanical systems under supervision.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist with repairs to minimize downtime.
• Keep the maintenance shop clean, organized, and safe.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate issues to the team.
• Follow safety policies from Belfair, Troon, manufacturers, and OSHA.
