Colleton River Club in Bluffton, SC is seeking a Golf Course Café Cook to manage the Halfway Café on the course. You will prepare fresh, made-to-order items, greet members, take orders, and operate the POS system, all while maintaining a clean, organized café environment.

This role emphasizes independence and ownership of the café, with opportunities to interact with Club members and provide friendly service in a scenic private club setting.

Qualifications

• Previous food preparation or cooking experience is preferred. Experience in golf course halfway house, turn house, country club, golf club café or snack bar is especially valuable.
• Previous golf course or private club experience is preferred but not required.
• We’re happy to consider an experienced cook or café professional with independence, reliability, hospitality, and attention to detail.
• Stand and walk for the majority of the shift; lift and move items up to 50 pounds; operate standard kitchen equipment.

Are you a cook who enjoys working independently, staying busy, and taking ownership of your workspace from start to finish?

Colleton River Club is looking for a dependable and hospitality-minded Golf Course Café Cook to operate our Halfway Café, located right on the golf course in beautiful Bluffton, South Carolina.

This isn't a traditional restaurant kitchen position. You’ll be the person running the show. You’ll prepare fresh, made-to-order food, greet members, take orders and payments through the POS system, brew coffee and tea, stock the café, and keep your operation clean and ready for the next group of golfers.

If you have experience working at a golf course halfway house, turn house, snack bar, country club café, golf club grill, concession stand, breakfast/lunch café, or short-order restaurant, we’d especially like to meet you.

What You’ll Do

As the Golf Course Café Cook, you’ll independently manage the day-to-day operation of the Halfway Café during your shift.

You’ll:

• Prepare made-to-order breakfast and lunch items quickly and consistently.
• Work independently as the café’s short-order cook.
• Greet Club members and guests and provide friendly, efficient service.
• Take food and beverage orders at the counter.
• Ring up purchases accurately using the Club’s POS system.
• Brew and maintain fresh coffee and iced tea throughout the day.
• Prepare and stock grab-and-go food and beverage items.
• Keep food, beverages, condiments, paper products, and operating supplies stocked and organized.
• Set up the café for service and ensure everything is ready before golfers arrive.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, counter, dining, and service area.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment as needed.
• Follow standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Properly store, label, rotate, and protect food products using FIFO procedures.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and temperature-control standards.
• Monitor inventory and communicate product or supply needs before running out.
• Complete opening, operating, and closing responsibilities independently.
• Take pride and ownership in the overall appearance, cleanliness, organization, and operation of the café.

• Have experience as a short-order cook, line cook, grill cook, breakfast cook, café cook, snack bar attendant, concession cook, or food service attendant.
• Have previous golf course, country club, private club, halfway house, turn house, or golf café experience — a big plus!
• Are comfortable working independently and managing your own workflow.
• Can cook and provide great customer service at the same time.
• Are comfortable using or learning a point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Have a friendly, professional personality and enjoy interacting with members.
• Stay organized and calm when several golfers arrive at once.
• Understand basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• Notice what needs to be done and take care of it without waiting to be asked.
• Take pride in keeping your workspace exceptionally clean and organized.
• Are dependable, punctual, and ready to work at your scheduled start time.

Physical Requirements

This is an active food-service position. Team members must be able to:

• Stand and walk for the majority of the shift.

• Safely operate standard commercial kitchen equipment.
• Lift and move food, beverages, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work safely in a kitchen environment with hot equipment and varying temperatures.
