Job summary

MANN+HUMMEL is seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to lead HSE initiatives at our Goleta, California facility. Serve as the site SME for HSE, partnering with plant leadership to foster a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance.

Role focuses on developing and maintaining HSE systems in alignment with ISO standards and internal policies, with on-site responsibilities at the Goleta site. This on-site position does not offer sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, HSE Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in HSE or related role. Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong regulatory compliance experience.
• Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Cal/OSHA.
• Strong communication, training, project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• SAP is a plus.
• Additional environmental compliance knowledge in waste, water, or emissions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies such as CUPA, GSD, OSHA, Cal/OSHA, State Water Board, and APCD.
• Lead site environmental compliance activities, including emissions monitoring and reporting.
• Monitor HSE legal and regulatory requirements and provide guidance.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions related to HSE incidents and risks.
• Maintain HSE management systems aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Support risk assessments, emergency preparedness, audits, reporting, and compliance activities.
