Job summary

Goldfish Swim School is seeking a Golden Teacher to instruct children in water safety and swimming using our curriculum. This part-time, non-exempt role reports to the Deck Supervisor and supports onboarding for new instructors.

Responsibilities include delivering lessons, enforcing safety rules, mentoring staff, and completing training documentation. You will participate in culture initiatives and provide WOW customer service to members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two or more years of swimming instruction experience required.
• Lifeguard experience or certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School Curriculum.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
• Assist with new employee onboarding including direction, training and mentoring to new GSS team members.
• Complete new teacher training feedback documentation.
• Participate in company culture initiatives.
• Provide WOW! customer service to members.
• Use problem solving and creative thinking to identify and resolve student challenges.
• Report issues to management as appropriate.
• Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment.
• Report accidents and incidents to management. Complete required incident documentation.
• Assist in execution of the Emergency Action Plan when needed.
• Occasionally perform light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, etc.
• Occasionally attend in-service training outside of regular working hours.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED is preferred. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required. Two or more years as a swimming instructor required. Swimming experience is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:

• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
