Job summary

Goldfish Swim School is seeking a part-time Golden Teacher to instruct students in water safety using the company curriculum. You will provide direction, training, and mentoring to new instructors and help enforce safety rules during lessons.

Responsibilities include conducting lessons, completing documentation, supporting onboarding, and participating in culture initiatives while delivering exceptional customer service to members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two or more years of swimming instructor experience required.
• Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider is required.
• Swimming experience is preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.

• Maintains and stores pool equipment properly.
• Reports accidents and incidents and completes documentation.

Job Title: Golden Teacher

Reports to: Deck Supervisor

FLSA Status: Part Time Non-Exempt

Summary: Instructs students on water safety and swim instruction utilizing the Goldfish Swim School curriculum. Provides direction, training and mentoring to new GSS swim instructors.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. 1. Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School Curriculum.
2. 2. Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
3. 3. Assists with new employee onboarding including: providing direction, training and mentoring to new GSS team members.
4. 4. Completes new teacher training feedback documentation.
5. 5. Participates in company culture initiatives.
6. 6. Provides WOW! customer service to members.
7. 7. Uses problem solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter.
8. 8. Reports issues to management as appropriate.
9. 9. Maintains and ensures proper storage of all pool equipment.
10. 10. Reports accidents and incidents to management. Completes required incident documentation..
11. 11. Assists in execution of the Emergency Action Plan when needed.
12. 12. Occasionally performs light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, etc.
13. 13. Occasionally required to attend in-service training outside of regular working hours.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED is preferred. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required. Two or more years as a swimming instructor required. Swimming experience is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:
