Job summary

Goldfish Swim School in Moore, OK is seeking a Golden Teacher to instruct students on water safety and swim instruction using the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

You will provide direction, training and mentoring to new GSS swim instructors while upholding safety standards and the school’s policies.

This part-time, non-exempt role focuses on delivering friendly customer service, contributing to a positive culture and supporting emergency procedures when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Two or more years as a swimming instructor required.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School Curriculum.
• Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
• Assists with onboarding including training and mentoring to new GSS team members.
• Completes new teacher training feedback documentation.
• Participates in company culture initiatives.
• Provides WOW! customer service to members.
• Uses problem solving to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter.
• Reports issues to management as appropriate.
• Maintains and ensures proper storage of all pool equipment.
• Reports accidents and incidents to management and completes required incident documentation.
• Assists in execution of the Emergency Action Plan when needed.
• Occasionally performs light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, etc.
• Occasionally required to attend in-service training outside of regular working hours.

Summary: Instructs students on water safety and swim instruction utilizing the Goldfish Swim School curriculum. Provides direction, training and mentoring to new GSS swim instructors.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• 1. Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School Curriculum.
• 2. Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
• 3. Assists with new employee onboarding including: providing direction, training and mentoring to new GSS team members.
• 4. Completes new teacher training feedback documentation.
• 5. Participates in company culture initiatives.
• 6. Provides WOW! customer service to members.
• 7. Uses problem solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter.
• 8. Reports issues to management as appropriate.
• 9. Maintains and ensures proper storage of all pool equipment.
• 10. Reports accidents and incidents to management. Completes required incident documentation..
• 11. Assists in execution of the Emergency Action Plan when needed.
• 12. Occasionally performs light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, etc.
• 13. Occasionally required to attend in-service training outside of regular working hours.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED is preferred. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required. Two or more years as a swimming instructor required. Swimming experience is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:

• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
